Walk the Rock Week 3
Walk the Rock: Spring 2018 – Week 3
Congratulations to all of our walkers for passing the halfway point. Beginning a new health habit is so much easier than maintaining one and I wanted to take a moment to provide you with a few tips to help you keep yourself motivated.
2018 Walk the Rock : Week 1
We are excited to have completed the first week of our 3rd annual Walk the Rock Community Walking Challenge! As I made my way around the island this past week I consistently saw participants out and about getting their steps in. Simply seeing you all make the time for yourself to move more always motivates me to do the same. Just as you all motivate me I hope that this challenge helps to inspire you to find movement you enjoy, connect with a fitness community, and allows you to connect movement to improved physical and mental health.
Walk The Rock: The Winner is …
Congratulations on completing your 6-week challenge. This year’s weather forced us to find creative ways to get our steps in, but you all did not disappoint. If anything, this weather was one example of the everyday challenges we face to stay active. When you do come across those challenges be kind and patient with yourself, and know trying your best will always be enough.
Walk the Rock: Sticking to Routine
How many times have you started a new fitness routine only to fall back into old patterns weeks, or even days after you have started. I for one have had this happen many times. Once I took the time to discover what motivated me and what I enjoyed, sticking to a routine became that much easier. Use this last week to review your goals, determine what time of day is easiest for you to motivate, and check in with yourself and to see if you truly enjoy what you’re doing.
Walk the Rock: Building Nutrition Habits
Wellness isn’t simply about being a certain weight, or fitting is to a specific size, it is about creating lasting habits in the many facets of health. MiniNutrition was created around the philosophy that optimal health is found when there is a balance between fitness, nutrition, and self-wealth. Finding this balance can be challenging in our every changing lives, so set yourself up for a successful transition and consider only making a few small changes at a time.
Now that we have the movement piece covered, consider making a few small changes to your nutrition routine. One huge aid to having a successful nutrition transition is being prepared. Meal planning is a great tool to utilize when your trying to change eating habits. It is so much easier to choose a healthy and balanced option when it is prepared and ready when you’re hungry. If you’re not sure where to start use these three tips to get you started.
Walk the Rock: Variety is Key

So, before that spark fades use these three tips to help you find the inspiration and motivation to keep movement in your life for the long haul. Read More
