Over the past year, food companies have been slowly updating their products to be in compliance with the new FDA regulations. While many food companies have made the change over, you will probably notice that many products still carry the old facts label. With winter comes many wonderful things: white dusted landscapes, hearty home cooked meals, and time to tackle projects that are pushed to the side during the busy summer season. While the winter can be beautiful in so many ways, it can also be a challenging time for our emotional health. This is why taking time for self-care is so important. As the daylight hours shift, remember that health is not simply about exercising and eating well. It also includes making time for mental wellness.
When asked by Nantucket Magazine to provide my “top tips for living my best life,” I was at a loss. This was such a broad topic for me that I struggled in deciding what to focus on. While I am dietitian, I strongly believe that health reaches far beyond the focus of food, but ultimately that is where my expertise lies. As we near the end take a moment to take note of what you enjoyed about adding the extra movement into your day.
