Walk the Rock: Sticking to Routine

How many times have you started a new fitness routine only to fall back into old patterns weeks, or even days after you have started. I for one have had this happen many times. Once I took the time to discover what motivated me and what I enjoyed, sticking to a routine became that much easier. Use this last week to review your goals, determine what time of day is easiest for you to motivate, and check in with yourself and to see if you truly enjoy what you’re doing.

Tips to Tackle Week 5… and beyond 

1. Review your intentions: At the beginning of the challenge you were asked to establish a reason for walking. On the days you are lacking that drive to get up and get moving, remind yourself why you choose to stay active.

2. Switch it up: As much as you may enjoy one form of exercise, it can become monotonous from time to time.  Don’t be afraid to try something different on the days that your go to fitness routine is failing to motivate you.

3. Find your partner in crime: If all else fails make a standing date with an exercise companion. It’s so much easier to bail if you’re only letting yourself down, but once you rope in someone else the chances of you backing out on your workout decrease.
