And The Winner is….

by Kathleen Minihan · Nov 2, 2016

After a success 6 weeks the results are in, but before we announce the winning  team we want to congratulate all of you for making your health a priority. This walking challenge is only the beginning of your journey and the next challenge is to find a way to maintain this momentum well beyond these six weeks.

Tips to Keep Moving

1.  A failure to plan is planning to fail… Take a moment at the beginning of your week, or even the beginning of your day to plan the time to exercise.

2. Something is always better than nothing. If you don’t have time in your week to take a big walk or go for a long jog, that’s ok. Use the time you do have and make it count. Skipping your workout all together may cause you to lose momentum and potentially miss more workouts down the road.

3. Set new goals! Don’t let the end of this waking challenge be the end of your new routine. To keep you motivated, set new goals, try something new, or find a partner you enjoy to exercise with to help keep you accountable! A great next step would be to register for the Run for Robin 5K this Sunday.

The Prize

nantucket-cycling-and-fitness

To help encourage the winners to make health a priority each member of the winning team will be awarded a $50 gift certificate to Nantucket Cycling & Fitness & a 30-minute Nutrition Consultation with MiniNutrition.

We are beyond excited to award the winning team the opportunity to participate in classes at this amazing facility. Walking into a new gym or fitness studio is often overwhelming, but from our experience, Nantucket Cycling & Fitness makes it top priority to ensure all of their members feel welcome, comfortable, and most importantly confident in what they can accomplish.

If you’re looking for a place to keep you motivated beyond this walking challenge, this studio may be the place for you. There is truly something for everyone and the variety of classes will assure that you’ll never be board.  If you’ve never been to their studio we encourage you to try a  beginner classes that will provide you with a slower pace lesson that allows you to tackle a regularly scheduled class with confidence.

The one aspect that keeps brining me back to this studio is not only the support and encouragement from their instructors, but the camaraderie of the participants.  Take the leap and give it a try!

Thank you Nantucket Cycling & Fitness!!!

The Winning Team is…

The Rantum Scooters!

Rantum Scooters

Congratulations to Cassandra Latawiec, Amanda Amaral, Mary Bergman, and Melany Cheeseman! This team took the challenge above and beyond by dancing, stepping in place, and even walking laps around the slow boat while making the trip across the sound. It’s a great reminder that the small movements do add up!
